Supporting Effective Land Management

Terrestrial systems include woodland, savannah, grassland, and the many variations on these broad classes that are influenced by moisture regime, elevation, latitude, and human activities. Profound shifts in native biological diversity and total remaining land area occupied by intact systems has largely been driven by accessibility to terrestrial systems by people and the relative ease with which they can be altered to meet land-use objectives. Biological Conservation offers technical capabilities required to develop science-based conservation strategies supporting effective stewardship of terrestrial systems. Our expertise includes: resource management plan development and implementation; natural community characterizations; wildlife inventories, monitoring, and research; and human-wildlife conflict resolution.
